This weeks couponing!

I love getting good deals at Food Lion!
The cereal was on sale for 2/$7.00 (the huge boxes) and I had a $1.00 off coupon and a $1.00 off Ecoupon.
The paper towels were on sale for $4.99 and I had a $1.50 off coupon.
The salad dressing was on sale for $1.39 each and I had two $1.00 off coupons.
The ice cream was on sale for $3.24 and I had a $0.75 off coupon.
The pudding was on sale for $1.00 each (and, I forgot my coupons for these...).
I got 4, yes 4, boxes of the new Splenda Essentials for FREE! They were on sale for $3.00 and I had four $3.00 off coupons!
So...$5.00 + $3.49 + $0.78 + $2.49 + $2.00 + Free = $13.76

I didn't take a picture of everything I purchased, but I saved $69.88 on my total bill with coupons, Ecoupons, and in-store MVP discounts! I ended up spending only $85.10 on groceries that should last at least two weeks! Saving money makes me so happy!

New Recipe - Grilled Chicken Salad!

We had this in our refrigerator from a previous meal, and I really wanted to use it again!
So we marinated chicken in Worchestershire and Poultry seasoning for 30 minutes on each side...
In the mean time, I chopped some lettuce, found some mandarin oranges in the pantry, and found some walnuts in the freezer! I mixed them all up in my favorite red bowl!
The hubs, now known as the "Grill-master," perfectly grilled our chicken!
We sliced the chicken and added it to the salad, then topped it with some cheese and dressing!
It was great! A very refreshing meal on a very hot day!

Blogging Hiatus!

So, I can't believe it has been a week since my last post!
I can tell you last week was CRAZY and BUSY getting back into the swing of things at work!
I am excited for the new school year though!

My new school year resolutions:

1. Less procrastination...I don't want to say "none" here, because it's bound to happen a little...
2. Get to school a little earlier...I don't like walking in with the students. I mean I work in a high school, so I kind of blend in.
3. To be more patient...in my field, patience is a must!
4. To be a better advocate for my students...now that I have the first year under my belt, I have more confidence in myself as a professional. Last year I doubted myself a lot and gave in to those who didn't agree with the ways of my field.
5. Of course, to give each student my best so we can have a successful school year!

New Recipe - Stuffed Pork Chops!

I bought a couple pork chops that were 1 1/2 inches thick, so I decided to make stuffed pork chops.
First, I mixed 1 cup of bread crumbs with a tablespoon each of marjoram, celery seed, parsley, and oregano.

Then I added some green onions, 1 egg, and two tablespoons of water!
I sliced the pork chops to open them up, not completely slicing them into two separate pieces though.
I stuffed them with the mixture and put them in a baking dish sprayed with Pam.
I covered the dish with aluminum foil and baked them for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Then I uncovered them and baked them for an additional 30 minutes.
YUM!

New Recipe - Homemade Potato Skins!

We had some company coming over, so I thought I would make a snack!
I bought a bag of small russet baking potatoes, washed them, and seasoned them in olive oil, salt, and pepper.

I baked them for about 45 minutes at 400 degrees! When they were done baking, I cut them in half horizontally and used a spoon to scoop out some of the middle. Then I rubbed them on both sides with canola oil and baked them for 10 minutes on each side at 450 degrees.

When they were done, I turned them all scooped side up and sprinkled them with salt, pepper, and cheese. I put them back in the oven long enough for the cheese to melt!

I had sides of bacon, sour cream, and ranch to go along!
They were so good!

CanvasPeople!

I frequent southernsavers.com and a few weeks ago there was a post about savemore.com!
I went to the website and the deal for the day was for a voucher for a canvas print from canvaspeople.com!
I had a picture that I really wanted enlarged to hang in our bedroom, so I thought this would be perfect.
When I signed up with savemore.com, I instantly received a $10 credit.
The voucher for the canvas that I wanted was $37 (originally $88.99).
So, I ended up paying $27 for the voucher. A redemption code was then emailed to me for the 16x20 canvas print that I just entered during checkout at canvaspeople.com! I was so excited, but a little skeptical about how it would turn out.

About a week and a half later it came...and it was perfect!

It looks a little small on the wall so I am planning on adding a few more photos to each side!

I will definitely be using savemore.com and canvaspeople.com again!
If you are interested in savemore.com, here is my referral link...just copy and paste!
